As I have gotten older and more independent I have realized several things about myself. I was thinking about this the other day. My whole life I have read, eaten, believed and done whatever everyone else was doing or telling me to do. Lately, on this path to self discovery I have realized what Lindsey likes to read, what Lindsey likes to eat, what Lindsey believes and what Lindsey wants to do. Too bad I didn't go through this in college or maybe I wouldn't be sitting where I am right now, but we live and we learn and part of realizing what you want to do involves realizing what you don't want to do. These are just a few of my realizations over the past year or so (some are more trivial than others):
* Red meat- I don't really care for it, I mean I like a hamburger every once in a while but I don't like red meat very much
* I absolutely LOVE chicken, I could and sometimes, do eat it everyday
* I am a Mac girl, no doubt...I hate Windows machines!
* I don't care for cake unless it is chocolate
* I like technology...a lot
* I love to read Christian fiction and sometimes even nonfiction
* I love design and layout and to editorialize
* I don't like gradebooks
* I really don't like parent/teacher conferences
* I avoid conflict
* I love to watch teenager shows like "The Secret Life", "Gilmore Girls", etc.
* I used to be really judgmental and legalistic, I am the complete opposite now
* I am a big city girl
* I like big churches but small groups
* I love contemporary post-modern worship styles, I like for the "mood" to be set with lights and music and stuff
* I am very independent and stubborn
* I am a control freak in every aspect of my life, including spiritually...I have a hard time of letting go and letting God
These are just the few of the things I have discovered about myself lately, there are more but this is a good start to things I am owning.
