We have had quite an eventful year already and it is only February. I have been kind of elusive on here the past couple of posts because we weren't quite ready to share what has been going on with us with the whole world, but now it is time to tell you what's going on in the life of the Bagwell's.

Our year started off with a wonderful surprise on New Year's Eve when I took this...

It came as quite a surprise to us, but we consider it a blessing and we are SO excited about becoming parents. I took the test that morning while Jeremy was at work and then had to keep it a secret from him all day. It was so hard too because we went to lunch that day with his parents and I knew the whole time. I was so nervous all day waiting for Jeremy to get home from work and my mind was racing with how I was going to tell him this news. I finally came up with something cute about 15 minutes before he walked in the door...




We have always said that when we get pregnant we will buy a video camera so I wrote this little rhyme and hid the positive test in a B & H Photo/Video catalog on the page where the Canon video cameras are. You can see the surprise on Jeremy's face, it took him a few minutes to process everything...understandably.

We had a lot of fun telling our family later the same weekend. It was hard to keep it a secret from our friends, especially since the day I found out was New Year's Eve and we spent it with some friends who are also expecting. But it was important to us to tell our family first.

We told my parents New Year's Day. It was another day of awkwardly avoiding the topic of anything that could come back to children and wondering all day how we would tell my parents. We had planned to just announce it at dinner, but it got complicated when Meredith's boyfriend was coming over for dinner and it was going to be the first time Jeremy and I met him. About 20 minutes before dinner Jeremy came up with what we could do. We told my mom we wanted to run to Dollar General to check out Christmas clearance real quick before dinner and ran out the door to find a stocking. (Everyone in my house, pets included all have a stocking for Christmas so we thought this would be the perfect clue.) We came back 10 minutes later and everyone was downstairs (sans the new boyfriend who had yet to arrive) and told my parents we had forgotten their Christmas gift the previous weekend and proceeded to hand them a wrapped package. When my mom opened the stocking she was a little confused, luckily we had found a card that said it all "A Grandchild is a Treasure", when she opened that card she sat there for a minute and kept say "No way! Nuh-uh! Seriously!" She was so shocked and Meredith immediately started jumping up and down saying "Your pregnant! I was so right! I am so excited!" We all hugged and cried and rejoiced in this blessing to come.

We told Jeremy's parents the next night. We had them over for dinner and when they got here we told them we forgot part of their Christmas (again :) ) and handed them each a gift. They were little ornaments that said "I love grandma" and "I love grandpa" along with the same card we got my parents. We didn't think about them not having their glasses and it took them a few minutes to figure out what the ornaments said. They were so excited as well and we all called Tim and Tiffany after dinner to share the news with them.

We feel so blessed to have families who share in our excitement and who are so supportive of us right now. We have no clue what we are getting into as parents but we trust that God brought us to this place and we are just seeking Him for guidance on how to be the best parents we can be and how to glorify Him in all of this.

We have had 2 doctors appointments but have yet to see the doctor because he has had to run out for a delivery both times. The first time I was very disappointed that I didn't get to see him but the 2nd time I didn't really care because it was the day I got an ultrasound and we got to see our baby so I didn't much care about anything else.

Now that we have a little blessing on the way we have realized our current house is too small for a baby so we are also attempting a move before Baby Baggs arrives in late August!
