A little r and r

I have not been a very good blogger and I am trying to get better so I thought I would try this blogger on the go thing on my blackberry. I don't even know how this is going to work, it may all be in vain but why not try, right?
We are in the car on the way back from our anniversary trip to Chattanooga. We left Friday around noon and headed up there. We arrived in Chattanooga around 5 Eastern time and checked into our hotel.
The best thing about. Taking trips is all the good food that we get to eat. We rarely eat out and usually eat pretty healthy so we splurge on trips. This one was no exception. We started off with sticky fingers bbq Friday night. We ate there in Charleston and loved it so that was a must on our list for this trip. They have the best bbq and so many good sauces to choose from. And of course we had to get dessert! A yummy brownie with ice cream and got fudge!
We drove around and explored the area after dinner. I had been there 2 years ago to visit LK and it was nice that I still remembered my way around there. No trip is complete without a stop at the local Target so we went there Friday night.
Saturday morning we were awakened at 6 am with the sound of the fire alarm in our hotel. I don't think I have ever jumped out of bed so fast in my life! I was scrambling to figure out what to do and where to go. About the time I was oriented the alarms stopped. Apparently there was a kitchen fire...no big deal. Right! It got me thinking though...what would we have done if that had been real?
Saturday was a relaxing day at the Riverwalk. We went to coolidge park and had a picnic and rode the carasol and walked sound along the north shore and the art district. Since we didn't go out somewhere nice on our actual anniversary we decided to go out somewhere kinds swanky in TN sat night. I don't think we have had a trip yet that we haven't gotten lost and this was no exception. Jeremy missed the exit for downtown and the next exit was 5 miles. Not a big deal except that traffic was at a dead stop! After 10 minutes of going 2 mph we saw what was causing the hold up... Pumpkins! There were easily over 100 pumpkins smashed and covering the interstate! It was quite the sight and smell!
We ended up getting downtown to our restaurant. We ate at Tony's and then went to Rembrandt's for dessert. They are both in the art district.
Sunday we visited the north point strategic partner that launched last year. It was pretty good. There are not that many churches with contemporary services, actually there weren't that many churches at all for the size of the city. After church we went back to the Riverwalk and to the market. We got some apples at the market and I am anxious to try them.
Monday we spent the day shopping and hanging out.
It is so nice to get away and enjoy time together. The only bad thing is coming back and the long list of things waiting to be done!
We are about 10 min from home so I am wrapping this up! Hope this post works!
